I ran my last long run (24 miles) before the Marathon, only a handful of short runs left before the race =)
hubby brought home an RSVP for us to go to his 35yrs award dinner on November 1. We are supposed to check what we want to eat: roast beef, grilled spice rubbed chicken or vegetable wellington. Does anyone know what vegetable wellington is?
I brought Hal back home today.
When I arrived at the computer shop, they said: You have the monster, right?
I look over and its sitting next to the shelf of towers.
The diagnosis was the power supply.
My insurance deductible is $250.
The power supply is $249.95.
Hopefully the new one will be here the beginning of next week.
i'd like to give a big thank you to justin and mandy for the help at the bike show. We're still talling up what was raised last count was $3200 which i feel was pretty good for the first bike show at pop-a-top we had 29 bikes and trike in the show and 6 kids with their bikes which we couldn't pick a winner in that catergory so they all got a blue ribbon and some stickers seeing them little kids a shining up their bikes was a picture of its own unfortationaly didn't get a picture of it.
Then on Sunday went on the spoon drive with little sister and her girls. Was dragging by that evening going to go on spoon river drive again this weekend hopefully will be fresh for that one.
I woke up this morning to an absurd amount of lightening and thunder, followed by a very peaceful rain.
Walking out into the living room I noticed an odd silence.
Hal was off.
I looked over at the clock to find it wasn't flashing.
Starting my coffee, the brewer's clock was still set as well.
I return to the living room and hit the power button on the computer only to see the living room lights flicker and hear the click of a circuit breaker inside the power supply.
Needless to say, I'm typing this on the company laptop. Everything else was untouched.
After church I was invited to dinner and found that several people experienced the lightening that only affected computers.
One person's computer was on a UPS and survived, but the colors on their monitor changed. (Yellows turned to greens.)
On the bright side...
So we went to Pancake day this past weekend... Good times! Fwee pancakes, BIG parade, and the girls got to ride PONIES which was great fun!
I want to sponsor a new member to our little family. Her name is Danielle, and she is a coworker from Blue Cross. I told her I wanted to adopt her 'cause she is SO much one of us. Her response was that if I adopt her I have to feed her. And buy her Christmas presents. If she and Dan are ever in the same group at the same time, I plan to introduce them as the twins. Dan and Danielle. Should be fun. She loves all things weird and wonderful and has a pet snake.
She went to the pet store to buy a bunny and came home w/a pet python whom she named Monty. That in itself should qualify her to be a SeveredHead. But when she tells about how Monty is afraid of his food, I figure that seals the deal. Apparently, when she puts a small feeder rat into his aquarium for him to dine upon, he coils up in the corner and tries to hide from his food.
So she now has an aquarium w/Monty's rat and then, of course, Monty's aquarium.
And Dan, I have no idea what you said in that last post. But I'm sure Danielle does. She's a self proclaimed Geek also.
So gang, please say hello to Danielle -- now I just have to persuade her to get on the website!
