When we first moved into the house in Timewell, we realized we'd made a mistake. The place was way too old and was quite literally falling in on itself. We said we'd be lucky if it lasted 20 years. 20 years and 1 month later, our prediction seemed to be coming true. The foundation crack is now a crumbling wall in the basement, the roof is leaking in streams from various locations, the pipes are being pressed by the foundation so they are leaking everywhere and the septic tank is backing up. All in the span of ONE week!
At any rate, we are now maintaining two residences and we could barely keep the one going! I tell people Christmas this year is going to be paying the rent for the month! Unfortunately, we still owe $10,000 on the mortgage and fear we will be lucky to sell it for $5,000! The housing market in Timewell is not exactly booming at the moment. Especially on a house that is collapsing. Selling AS IS!
We decided we don't want to tell Mom about the move because she already goes into panic attacks over every little thing. If she thinks we are not 5 mins away any more, she will freak! (I can't remember if I posted that we got her back into a nursing home or not -- I'll have to update my Diary next.)
Scott and Noelle made it back and will be here for the Big Event Saturday. We have our reservations at the Motel 6 at the airport and I just remembered I haven't contacted a Pizza Hut for the rehearsal dinner / pizza party. Guess I better get on that, huh.
Rehearsal Friday, wedding and reception Saturday, and Scott and Noelle's plane leaves at 8 am Sunday ...... pretty busy weekend ahead.
And it's time for me to get to work -- which is now 5 minutes away instead of 45 minutes! Already getting kinda spoiled.
