plugging along...

So quiet here lately... Makes me sad...

Well, a few days ago we found out that we're not heading to Japan as early as we had expected. Turns out we're not due to arrive there until March! Probably won't have to start work until April, even. We are so very happy for the extra time... I was freaking out, lol. But I had gotten myself into gear and been packing, and now don't quite know what to do with myself... Or these boxes... Figures, right? lol

So I decided I wanted to rearrange the bedrooms. Scott gave me an odd look when I proposed this idea, but we need to clean the place up, and moving stuff around is the best way to do that. ^_^

Hopefully Scott will get our permission to take leave back to Illinois soon. Our plane tickets are going to cost a fortune, but we don't dare buy them ahead of time, like before, or we might risk being denied leave all together. *grumble under breath at annoying military higher-ups*

Lastly, if you were to feel the need to find out what the big fads were currently popular in Asia, you'd find that collecting and customizing creepy looking ball-joint dolls were one of THE things among young adults. And they're spreading their freaky popularity to the US now...

I don't like them. I think they're creepy. I worry about the mental health of those I know who collect them...
But I found out there's a LOT of money to be made in making stuff for them... For instance, my avatar photo is from a game called Monster Hunter, and her set of armor is one of the more popular types. If I were to make a set of this armor for one of the creepy dolls, then I could sell it for at least $500, if not $1,000.
So I joined the disturbed masses, and bought my first doll. It's being shipped from Korea, and will hopefully be here in about two months.
Now I need a locking trunk to keep it in, so it can't kill me in my sleep...

If you'd like an idea of what these frightening things are, here's one of the top websites, to find the very best in BJD's. (Ball Jointed Dolls)

... (And no, I totally couldn't afford one of these... But the fact that they're always sold out, has to tell you something...)
